12 Days of Christmas: The Lady in Red

Posted on December 15, 2020January 3, 2021 by Shannan

I’ve had this outfit hanging on my clothing rack for a good minute. Just hanging. Collecting dust. Then came the 12 Days of Christmas Style Challenge hosted by me and my friend Sharon on Instagram! You can see my Instagram page here. Today’s theme is “The Lady in Red”. It was time for this outfit to make its debut!

You know how you have an idea of how something will look before putting it on? You have this perfect picture and sometimes it doesn’t live up to the imagined hype. Well baybayyyyyy, this look turned out just as good as I had imagined. It’s like this dress had been waiting its whole life for this top! But, where did this idea come from?

I love button up shirts. And I love collars. And I love putting things together that don’t naturally seem to go. The contrast of the white top with black trees is the perfect pairing for this solid red dress. The collar adds a pop of something special. Sure, a plain white button up shirt would have done the trick too. But, the black adds another dimension to the overall outfit.

I started to wear a belt with it. But, that belt paired with this ensemble did not live up to the hype. It was quickly dismissed. I threw on some sheer tights and black booties and we had a winner! This dress is no longer available, but I linked other dresses and the booties below. I bought the booties I am wearing from Amazon! This post is not sponsored, but these are affiliate links.

Georgia weather is seriously a brainteaser. It can be cold in the morning and like spring in the afternoon. Fortunately, it wasn’t too cold the morning I wore this outfit. So, this outfit was perfect for the weather. And it was perfect for me.

Hey y'all!!!! I'm so late, but better late than Hey y'all!!!!

I'm so late, but better late than never! This is what I wore on Thanksgiving!!!

I'm trying to get over feeling like I'm overdressed just because I wear a skirt or dress.

This sweater was a little oversized, but tucking it in made a huge difference! I started to wear the black version of this skirt, but opted for this green!

I just LOVE when an outfit comes together so well!!!!

I have to say that I'm really in the holiday spirit this year! How about you?
I worried nonstop all last week about my son's bir I worried nonstop all last week about my son's birthday party.

Would he get sick? He did. And was recovered days before his party.

Would my husband, daughter or I get sick? We didn't.

Would we have enough food? We did.

Did the place get our reservation right? They did.

You get the drift.

After all of that worrying I did, Deuce's party turned out great! Everyone had a great time!

I did all of that worrying for nothing. I wasted a full week worried for nothing.

God doesn't want us to worry about tomorrow or the days after. There's absolutely nothing we can do anyway. We don't even know if we'll even still be around tomorrow.

Let's try to enjoy today. This hour. This minute. Let's let God handle the rest.

Happy Sunday Comfies!
