Hi! My name is Shannan. Yes, that is Shannan with an “A”. But if you misspell my name, no worries. My dad has done it a time or two. I was born and raised in Georgia by parents who were entrepreneurs since before I was born. So, I guess entrepreneurship is in my blood. After graduating high school, I attended Georgia State University where I received a Bachelor’s in Business. My first job was working for my parents in their construction business. During that time, I also worked in retail for about two years. I felt so at home there. Probably too at home. I was one of the store’s biggest customers! After leaving retail, I attended Clayton State University where I received a Master’s in Business. To be honest, I really wanted to attend fashion school, but we’ll get into that on another post. I then worked in insurance for almost six years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. I’ve dibbled and dabbled into selling online and now here I am…writing a blog. I couldn’t be happier!
My Family
Lord Willing, as of this May, my husband and I will have been married for fifteen years. We met as teenagers and have grown up together. We dated, broke up, got back together, got married and had two beautiful kids. There is no one else I would rather be doing life with!
After a very early miscarriage, we were blessed with two babies who were both preemies – fighters from birth. My daughter, whose spunk matches her beauty, is the happiest child I have ever seen. She lives life with a constant smile and a laugh that is contagious. Two years after having our daughter, we were blessed with our wild child of a son. He keeps us on our toes, while also charming us and everyone else he encounters. Life is so much fuller with them and I wouldn’t trade them for the world!
My Style
You’d be hard pressed to catch me in heels these days. I am all about being as comfortable as possible. I retired from wearing heels several years ago, but not for lack of trying. I love anything bright and easy to throw on, preferably something with buttons and/or embroidery. Oh! And earrings! To say that I am obsessed would be an understatement!
My Favorite Thing
Romantic movies. I love a good cheesy romantic, predictable love story. My husband and I joke that we could write these movies. But I still love them. They are a nice escape that serves me well.
Thanks for being here! I hope you come back and visit often!
