If you’ve been following my recent journey, then you know I had a hysterectomy this past Monday. Here we are, Sunday morning, which is the day I usually go to worship service. But, because of my recent surgery, I’ll be home today watching a live service of the worship service at my parents’ church.
Now, what does this have to do with today’s scripture? I have been lounging around in dresses since I got home. I was thinking …let me see what I can wear to feel a little more cute to watch the service. You know, to make myself feel better. I’m a fashion blogger and cute clothing makes me happy and feel better.
But, then I thought a little deeper. I am at home and no one but my family will see me. But….you know who will see me? God.
God sent His best when He sent Jesus to die for us. Shouldn’t we at the very minimum show up as our best to worship Him? Now, our version of our best attire may be different. For some, it may be dresses. For some, it may be jeans. For some, it may be overalls. As long as it’s modest and your heart is pure, God will be pleased.
Now, how much time do you put into your attire when you’re going to work? Or out to eat with friends? Or on a date? I’m sure you wanna be sharp for those occasions so you take your time and think through what you’ll wear.
Why not give the same consideration for our worship to God? He gave us His Best. Shouldn’t we give Him ours?
Happy Sunday Comfies!
