Did you pray this morning?
Prayer is how we talk to God. Now, you may think, isn’t God all-knowing? Doesn’t He know what I want to say without me saying it? If so, then why pray?
Let’s think from our perspective. How would you feel if someone you know didn’t communicate with you and just figured…hey…they know me. They know what I need. I don’t have to say a word. What if they expected you to just do something for them because you know they are in need? They don’t ask for help, but they just expect it.
Is that fair?
Let me use myself as an example. I have no doubt that my husband loves me. But, I do like to hear him say it. I would be very disappointed if he just expected me to know because I know him so well.
Just as we expect communication from those in our lives, God expects us to communicate with Him. We are made in His image so we have similar feelings to Him.
So, let’s pray to Him. Not just in the morning, but all day. And when we pray, let’s not only go to Him when we want something. Let’s also go to Him to thank Him for the blessings He’s given us. No one wants to only hear from you when you want something.
