This is my husband’s fault. Okay! He never should’ve asked me to get mats for our bathroom. What had happened was…he liked the ones I bought for my children’s bathroom and wanted some for ours. That’s all he asked for. But in my defense, I’m a shopaholic so I did what I do…I revamped our entire bathroom! Let’s get into this, shall we!? We’ll start with the bathroom that got all of this started!
*Please note that I’ve included links where I make a small commission at no extra cost to you.*
This is my children’s bathroom. When deciding on the theme a few years ago, I wanted something gender neutral because I have a daughter and a son. I settled on this ocean/anchor theme. Don’t you just love a good nautical theme!?
I ordered the curtain and accessories a few years back. However, I replaced the original mat recently, which is what prompted my husband to ask me to order some mats for our bathroom. I admit. These mats are so comfortable!
New and Improved!
I bought mats alright! And curtains. And canvas art. And soap dispensers. Must I go on?
When choosing a room’s theme, I usually start with the curtains. This is where the personality shows up! I’m a fan of stripes, so these tribal curtains caught my eye! I initially ordered one set, but quickly realized they weren’t nearly wide enough when my husband put them up. So, I ordered a second set!
I love a good pattern mix! So, chevron it is for the mats!!!! What makes this work is that both the curtains and the mats have orange and white. When mixing patterns, be sure they have at least the same base color.
Canvas art is my favorite art! I much prefer it to framed art. It’s chic and simple. Here, I opted for these blue roses which blends well with the blue in the curtains!
Accessories!
These are a few accessories I added for the main part of the bathroom. The soap dispenser set was great because we have three bathrooms so each one is currently being used! I wanted something to cover the sides so I ordered this orange sequin table runner! And what about this soap drain dish!? It helps the soap to stay drier since it drains the water! It’s so cool! I also bought a set containing a toothpaste dispenser and a toothbrush holder! (Not pictured) You gotta have your bathroom accessories right!? They’re the equivalent to having on a good pair of earrings!
The Toilet Room
I couldn’t just neglect the toilet room now could I? I already had the curtain that’s covering the shower. And I ordered the canvas art a few years ago to be used in the main section of the bathroom. I never quite finished decorating that as you’ll see in the before pictures further down.
So what’s new? The floating shelf (came as a set of 3), the hooks and the welcome art which reads “Welcome. Please seat yourself. Thank you!”. With a small area to work with, that towel rack on the shelf is my favorite! I bought the hooks separately and they work well for hanging our wet towels! No more hanging the towels over the shower door, which by the way, my husband removed! I simply love how the hanging towels also help fill the space. Function meets design!
Last, but not least, is this toilet paper holder. We needed one so badly! But me being me, I couldn’t get the traditional one. Oh no! I had to get fancy! I will say that you’ll need to use a toilet paper roller for bigger sized rolls. We use mega rolls. The weight makes it hard to pull the tissue. When I read reviews, it mentioned this so when I had this problem, I just pulled out our old one and stuck it in there! I usually leave the top open until we’ve used some to make it easier to come out. You’ll get the hang of it for sure!
Here’s a picture of how the roller looks inside.
Before and During Revamping
This is the before picture. As you can see, I didn’t do much at all. So, there wasn’t much to undo. The pictures weren’t even mounted! Procrastination y’all! At its finest!
My husband really is the best! He only asked for mats, but jumped in to help me put this bathroom together! He is my hero! So that’s it! I hope you enjoyed this post. Until next time Comfies! Happy Sprucing!
