What do you get when you combine two patterns? Perfection! That is what you get. I love LOVE wearing stripes. And I am growing to love florals too! So put that together and voila!
I bought this dress on sale about a year or two ago. This was maybe my second time wearing it. To be honest, I like it more than ever! Although I am 5’2, the dress is not too long. Even in flats! If anything, it barely touches the ground. Let me tell you. For a short person, that is the best!
And what about the diagonal stripes! Black and white combos are dynamic in and of themselves. But then to have black diagonal stripes on a white base! That’s what I am talking about! And let’s not forget the floral! This is the way to do patterns right!
Now, what’s different about this picture? I only added a belt! See how that changed the whole dynamic of the dress? I even had a different vibe when I had it on. A belt can be a powerful tool for a dress. Not only does it add more dimension to your outfit, it defines your waist. I am definitely going to need to add more belts to my wardrobe!
Whew! And the sides! That’s what I am calling the accessories! The accent color of choice here is yellow! There is no yellow in this dress, but oh well! Don’t be afraid to add an extra pop of color to an already colorful piece. Notice how I stayed consistent in the color accent. My earrings, belt and shoes are a similar shade of mustard yellow.
