The Navy Blue Multicolor Kimono

Posted on July 24, 2020January 3, 2021 by Shannan

This week on Instagram, I teamed up with my friend Sharon to “twin” our styles. For each day, we picked a theme and both styled it our way! Enter this look. We decided to wear dark denim, but I let Sharon pick the color of the top for this day. I am soooo glad that she chose a white top with a navy cardigan. It didn’t take me long to figure out what I wanted to wear!

You ever have something in your closet like this? You liked it enough to buy it, but you haven’t worn it in a while? Welp, that’s how I felt about this kimono. And I LOVE kimonos, but this one has been harder to style for some reason. Well, not today. The navy blue is accented with white stripes in every direction! And the orange trim just set the whole thing off! It goes perfectly with denim and a white tee!

Never underestimate a white tee. I learned that lesson today. I decided to put on a sleeveless white tee underneath and go for it. The white mixed between dark denim and the kimono provided the perfect base for this outfit. And by now, you know I love anything tucked in for a nice, clean look! Now full disclosure here. I was a little concerned about having my stomach poke out, but honey, it’s all about picking the photos with the right angles! This white tee has some stretch and is a little slinky so it ended up being a perfect fit. And the fact that it was free adds icing to the already scrumptious cake!

Now about the sides aka the accessories! I’ve become a minimalist when it comes to the number of accessories I wear. The white shoes and bracelet were perfect because they added consistency and matched the white tee. But check out those earrings! They have been stored in my jewelry box for about six years.  I can’t remember where I purchased them, but they are so adorable! See, it’s good to go through some of your old items!

Well, that wraps things up! Thanks for reading Comfies! Have you found some oldie but goodie treasure in your closet? Tell me about it in the comments! Until next time, have a great day friends!

Hey y'all!!!! I'm so late, but better late than Hey y'all!!!!

I'm so late, but better late than never! This is what I wore on Thanksgiving!!!

I'm trying to get over feeling like I'm overdressed just because I wear a skirt or dress.

This sweater was a little oversized, but tucking it in made a huge difference! I started to wear the black version of this skirt, but opted for this green!

I just LOVE when an outfit comes together so well!!!!

I have to say that I'm really in the holiday spirit this year! How about you?
I worried nonstop all last week about my son's bir I worried nonstop all last week about my son's birthday party.

Would he get sick? He did. And was recovered days before his party.

Would my husband, daughter or I get sick? We didn't.

Would we have enough food? We did.

Did the place get our reservation right? They did.

You get the drift.

After all of that worrying I did, Deuce's party turned out great! Everyone had a great time!

I did all of that worrying for nothing. I wasted a full week worried for nothing.

God doesn't want us to worry about tomorrow or the days after. There's absolutely nothing we can do anyway. We don't even know if we'll even still be around tomorrow.

Let's try to enjoy today. This hour. This minute. Let's let God handle the rest.

Happy Sunday Comfies!
