I’ve said it before. And I’ll say it again. I love ANYTHING that buttons up. Sign me up! It’s something about the tailored look that I just love!
Can you guess the price of this button up shirt dress? When I saw that this dress was on sale for $8, I ran! I ran for my life! Do you get that reference? Lol! After the discounts, this dress was only $5.82! Yep yep!
The Fit
When wearing button up pieces, it’s always a guessing game on whether there will be gaps between the buttons. You know…those holes that come from the garment being too tight and stretching. Well, not here! Oddly enough, that was not my fear with this dress. I was more excited to see what those shoulders would look like. For reference, I am 5’2 and wear a size 22. This dress is a 4X.
The Shoulders
See those puffy shoulders? That was another factor that drew me to this dress. It looked so chic on the model. Oh, but when I got it, I did not like the shoulders. They made me look too wide at the top. I felt I looked like a linebacker from the NFL! I even left a review for the dress saying that it was cute, but that the shoulders would need alterations. Silly me.
When I looked at the pictures I took for the review and looked at myself in the dress the next morning, I realized…I was looking GOODT! The shoulders are just part of the design. So, I deleted the review.
The Accessories
I typically don’t wear a necklace with button ups so that was a no-brainer. However, I did want to make a statement with the earrings so I chose this pair. They complemented without taking away. The booties were a great addition and complemented the brown in the earrings. It is worthy to note that I wore a black slip dress underneath as to make sure my undergarments didn’t show through. And there you go!
